Help Shape the Future of Our KSD Community

A speaker gestures toward a screen while presenting to an attentive audience in a modern library.
Kearney School District is hosting several Public Sharing and Listening Events this September as part of our Great Schools = Great Community initiative.

These events are designed to help families, staff members, residents and community partners learn more about KSD’s school finance, long-range facilities planning and community engagement efforts. They are also an opportunity to ask questions, share priorities and provide feedback before final decisions are made later this year.

The same information will be shared at each session, with details related to all district buildings. Please choose the date or location that works best with your schedule.

Kearney High School football travels to Smithville for a 7 p.m. kickoff Friday, Sept. 11. Bulldog fans planning to make the trip can find ticket, livestream and parking information below.

Important: Smithville does not accept cash at the gate. Fans should purchase digital tickets in advance or be prepared to purchase them electronically.
Visiting fan parking: Bulldog fans should park at Smithville Middle School or Horizon Elementary. From there, fans can walk down the right-field line of the softball field or use the path on the east side of the Activity Center to reach the visiting bleachers.

Safe travels, and go Bulldogs!

Race to Fill the Pantry during KHS Homecoming Week!

Kearney High School students are putting service at the center of this year’s Homecoming celebration with a community-wide Race to Fill the Pantry!

The KHS Service Committee selected the Kearney Food Pantry as the primary focus for this year’s Day of Service and is inviting the entire community to help stock its shelves. Nonperishable food donations will be collected at KHS home sporting events throughout Homecoming Week.

Community members who donate will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win Bulldog spirit gear, with prizes raffled off during each event:
  • Thursday, Sept. 17: KHS Volleyball
  • Monday, Sept. 21: KHS JV Football
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23: KHS Softball
  • Wednesday, Sept. 23: Homecoming Powderpuff Football
  • Thursday, Sept. 24: KHS Boys Soccer
The food collected during the campaign will become part of an even larger student service effort. On Nov. 3, KHS sophomores and juniors will participate in the school’s annual Day of Service, sorting the donated items and assembling meal kits for the Kearney Food Pantry.

Students will also collect additional food during Day of Service week to create Thanksgiving meal kits for local families who could use some additional support during the holiday season. Homecoming is a time to celebrate Bulldog pride, and this year KHS students are helping turn that pride into service for their community.

Bring a nonperishable food item to a Homecoming Week sporting event and help KHS Race to Fill the Pantry!
