2026 Missouri Assessment Program Results

Missouri’s Department of Elementary and Secondary Education recently sent us the individual results for the 2026 Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). These results are from the Grade Level Assessments and End-of-Course exams that were taken by our students this past spring.

We plan to provide those MAP results at our schools during the Parent-Teacher Conferences that are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026. Please contact your student's school office if you wish to receive those results before the Parent-Teacher Conferences.

Even if you do pick up the results early, we encourage you to review them with your child's teachers during the conferences. They can provide valuable insights about how the results are used to help each child grow academically.

Please email us at communications@ksdr1.net if you have any questions.

Help Us Prepare for the Back-to-School Resource Fair

The Kearney School District 2026 Back-to-School Resource Fair is less than one month away, and community volunteers can play an important role in helping local students and families start the new school year prepared and supported.

Volunteers will help create a safe and welcoming setup, sort school supplies, assemble supply bags, organize clothing and move room furniture as needed.

Whitaker Steward Earns Two More All-American Honors

Kearney High School Class of 2026 graduate Whitaker Steward has added two more All-American honors to one of the most accomplished swimming careers in Missouri high school history.

The National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association recognized Whitaker as an All-American in the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle. These honors are awarded to swimmers whose performances rank among the top 100 nationwide.

Whitaker holds the Missouri Class 1 record in the 200 freestyle and the all-class state record in the 500 freestyle. The latest awards make him a six-time All-American.

He concluded his KHS career as the most decorated swimmer in Missouri state history, earning seven individual state championships and twice being named the state’s Swimmer of the Year.

Whitaker’s next challenge begins Sunday, when he travels to compete at the USA Swimming National Championships. The meet features many of the fastest swimmers in the country, including Olympians. Whitaker is scheduled to compete in five events during the July 28-Aug. 1 competition before beginning his collegiate career at the University of Tennessee.

Congratulations, Whitaker! The entire Bulldog community is proud of you and will be cheering you on!
